Again! Nollywood Records 2 Deaths! God Help Us.


Nollywood actor Lugard Onoyemu slumped and died at the National Stadium Surulere while playing football with friends. He was rushed to the hospital where he died. Lugard battled a heart related ailment for a while before his sudden death.
Multiple sources say the late actor was hale and hearty before death came calling.
Onoyemu who trained at the Nigerian Institute of Management is the first Nollywood act to pass on this year.
His death has further thrown the Nigerian movie industry into mourning as it has lost many practitioners in the last two years.
Rising is said to be the worst hit as the deceased had served as a former Lagos State AGN Secretary under his administration.
Reacting to his death, popular gospel artiste, Sammie Okposo said, “First Goldie passes on and we are still dealing with the pain and grieving and then another Nollywood actor,Lugard Onoyemu slumps and dies.God save us o. May his soul rest in peace...Amen. While Nollywood is still reeling from the shock another upcoming star bites the dust...

Just as Nigerians are yet to come to terms with the death of Goldie.Popular Abuja based actor, director and producer, Collins Ifeanyi Chukwu is dead.

He died yesterday at the Maitama General Hospital after a brief illness. The news, which was confirmed yesterday by the chairman of the Abuja chapter of the Actors guild of Nigeria, AGN, Ifeanyi (Agility) Onourah, has thrown the Abuja chapter into mourning. The usually boisterous Access Garden, which is the official location of the guild’s activities, was full of tears and wailing yesterday.Chukwu and his wife Blessing dedicated their son, Doxa Efechukwu Collinns, on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at the Christ Chosen Church of God, Gwarimpa, Abuja, after which his parents treated entertainment practitioners to a lavish ceremony at their Jikwoyi residence.
Reacting to his death, Frank White, chairman of the Producers Guild of Nigeria, Abuja Chapter said, “It is quite unfortunate that the young lady has been widowed at this early age with such a little boy. This is a big loss, not only to the family, but to the entertainment industry in Abuja.”
The late Collins is well known for producing gospel movies. He produced ‘The Burning Flames, el-Gibor, Back to Bethel, and was before his death, working on another blockbuster.
