A 27 year old housemaid Mariam Acheme has been arrested for allegedly conniving with her boyfriend and 4 others to rob and stage her own kidnapping.Her boyfriend Dansu and his cohorts ransacked the house stealing valuales and taking the maid along in the process.
The boss reported to the Police who swung into action when the maid called crying on the phone and begging her boss to pay the N5m ransome being demanded as she was being tortured. The kidnappers sent the bank account number where the money was to be paid and the Police traced it to a bricklayer who in turn led them to his brother who he claimed had asked him for his account number some days earlier claiming he needed it to do a transaction.
On getting to the house of Jean, the Bricklayer's brother they found the maid strolling in the compound. She however denied her complicity in the crime claiming that she had invited her boyfriend to the house to visit and he instead came with his friend and they locked her in the toilet, ransacked the house and kidnapped her in the process.
